Trevor Horn has produced tracks on the latest album from Aviv Geffen, which is out today on Mars Records.
This is Geffen's 15th album, but his first to be recorded in English. Israel's biggest musician, he has sold 2.5 million units to date and consistently outsells both Madonna and U2 in his home territory. Other tracks on the eponymous album are produced by Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Snow Patrol).

“Part of what drew me to Aviv,” says Trevor, “is that I really liked his lyrics, I thought they were poetic.” Read more in Israeli rock star Aviv Geffen is out to conquer Europe (The Times, 17.10.09).

The NME gives a glowing review of Trevor's work on the new Kid Harpoon album, Once (out now on XL).
Harpoon, writes Martin Robinson, has "returned with a loud, Technicolor bang, having managed to recruit legendary producer Trevor Horn, who helped ‘shift’ about 90 per cent of all ‘units’ in the ’80s..."

"That’s not to say the troubadour of old has been destroyed by ‘Relax’-style studio fire and brimstone, it’s more that the Kid’s perfectly constructed songs now have plenty of space to express themselves. It means that even the stripped-back, introverted songs, like ‘Buried Alive’ and ‘Back From Beyond’, can reflect the psychedelic bent of the lyrics. Suddenly being transported out of Holloway and into the LA world of Horn has undoubtedly given Harpoon confidence to push himself..."

In a full-page special in their Saturday Review section, Trevor talks to Will Hodgkinson about working with Grace Jones, Robbie Williams, Kid Harpoon, Shane MacGowan, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and more...

“The amazing things about the old Buggles songs is that they were all played!” he counters. “We would play backing tracks for 14 hours until it sounded like a machine made them. My aim in those days was to combine The Man-Machine by Kraftwerk with middle-of-the-road pop. I was quite militant about it.”
